Dip dyed hair. The worst trend to have graced heads across the globe. Until this year! Runway models at Peter Som, Oscar de la Renta, and Chanel debuted some of the most happening halos of faded color ever. The key to color- go muted or don't go at all. An example is model-muse Charlotte Free, famous for her bubblegum-pink tresses that look more grunge-chic than 80's freak. The sophisticated swirls of neon at Oscar de la Renta show how to go about a serious punch of color in a toned down way. The locks at Peter Som resembled rivulets of indulgent pastels, which look put together and classy because they are only at the tips and are muted down. You cannot go wrong with a single swipe of a Kevin Murphy Color Bug, or Free People's hair chalk, which both provide the perfect trendy dose of color. No need to get your hands stained-- return to your childhood days as you paint your own chalk masterpiece!

Last weekend, I went shopping at Zara which is probably one of my favorite stores for the following reasons: they have tweed jackets that make me feel like I can actually buy a Chanel jacket; there are some kickass leather skirts; the prints and textures make me happy. I came across the coolest asymmetrical skort when I was browsing the navy winter themed racks and visions raced in my mind. I imagined myself strolling in Central Park wearing this skort, some tights, fur lined booties and a cropped peacoat. At that instant, I had to have it. And why not get the equally amazing punk sweatshirt that happened to look perfect with anything from jeans to a pencil skirt. I decided to do three looks, what I would wear to school, on the weekend, and to a party. Hope you like!!

The Cool Kidz

Fall is almost over and that means it's time for a new wardrobe! Well, not completely new, just some great new pieces. My favorites include the great mohair plaid jumper from H&M, the statement 'Love' necklace from Lanvin, the insanely cool-grunge boots from Saint Laurent, and the amazingly New York-esque bucket bag from Kate Spade. All of these are some pretty worthy splurges!

outside the box

clear clutch: Zara
leather wristlet: Marc by Marc Jacobs

My obsession currently are box clutches. I used to think they were a bit mainstream, but then I came across this innovative Chanel No. 5 clutch and decided they were so cool! I think a box clutch should be kept as simple and clean as possible, so there should be a pouch inside the clutch to hold your stuff. Take a patterned or solid wristlet or pouch, such as my new Marc by Marc Jacobs one, and simply drop it inside the clutch for a more organized look. This hot pink color is bold and modern, so it looks cool with any outfit.

Room Tour

All the sheets and pillows on my bed are from Shabby Chic. I love that countryside look!

I use a Kindle and an iPad for reading. This handmade mask is from a mask shop in Venice. It reminds me of my trip to the Mediterranean!

This rose lamp is made from scrap velvet and lucite. I found it at the Melrose Flea Market; it was such a good find!

My favorite thing to do is read, so I have always have a stack of classics. I love a good candle, so my Jo Malone one is a must. The photo is of my mom walking me in a carriage across Abbey Road in London!

Perfume is really important to me because I think it represents parts of your personality. My favorite one is the ChloƩ!

These vintage bags, the backpack from Gucci and the bag from Balenciaga, are amazing and they add flare to my dresser.

I have a collection of black and white photographs my dad took while he lived in Paris. I love how they give my room character and make the white walls look chic.

My clear cube is a life saver for makeup; it stores all my lipsticks, shadows, and mascaras in organized clear shelves.

I have a collection of antique floral teacups from a flea market in London; they're all from the Victorian era.

My bookcase is my favorite piece of furniture in my room; each shelf has a different style and it took my three weeks to finish decorating it! It incorporates antique jars, teacups, novels, and photographs.
